Overview:


The Renal Nursing program aims to equip Registered Nurses with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to work safely and effectively in the renal setting.

Program Outcomes:


This program aims to prepare nurses who are:

  • integrate specialised knowledge, cognitive and practical skills in caring for the patients with altered renal function
  • demonstrate effective communication, high team spirit with good leadership skill within a multidisciplinary team of renal related unit
  • utilise digital and numeracy skill with high professional integrity and ethical value in the management of renal patients
  • apply life-long learning skills in renal nursing practices to expand their personal and professional development

Program Structure:


This program consists of theoretical input and clinical practice in Renal Nursing.

Programme Outline:


  • Basic Nephrology
  • Renal Nursing Sciences
  • Psychological Aspect of Renal Nursing
  • Renal Nursing Practicum

Duration:


  • Six (6) months full time program

Entry requirements:


  • Diploma/ Degree in Nursing
  • Registered with Malaysian Nursing Board (MNB) or its equivalent
  • Possess Current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • Minimum Two (2) Years Clinical Working Experience
  • Possess at Least Three (3) Months Experience in the Related Speciality
