Overview:


The infection control program aims to equip Registered Nurses with the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to practice effectively in the prevention and control of infection.

Program Outcomes:


This program aims to prepare nurses who are able to:

  • Integrate knowledge, practical and cognitive skills in infection control context toward excellent health care services.
  • Demonstrate high team spirit and effective communication skills to perform better in infection control practices.
  • Utilize digital and numeracy skills with high sense of leadership, responsibilities and accountability for the health care industry.
  • Practice professional and ethical integrity with lifelong learning attitude for continual and professional development.

Program Structure:


This program consists of theoretical input and clinical practice in Infection Control.

  • Microbiology in Infection Control
  • Communication, Counselling and Ethic in Infection Control
  • Fundamental of Infection Control
  • Management of Infection Control
  • Clinical Practice

Duration:


  • Six (6) months full time program

Entry requirements:


  • Diploma/ Degree in Nursing
  • Registered with Malaysian Nursing Board (MNB) or its equivalent
  • Possess Current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • Minimum Two (2) Years Clinical Working Experience
  • Possess at Least Three (3) Months Experience in the Related Speciality

Certification:


  • Post Basic in Infection Control
